C asean sees the importance of supporting the citizen of the world mindset, thus we have been working with partners to initiate activities under our three scopes of focus: Business & Sustainability, Learning & Talent Development, and Arts & Culture.
ASEAN Artists Residency Programme
The ASEAN Artists Residency Programme (AARP) is a dedicated initiative supporting young and emerging artists from the 10 ASEAN Member States. By offering a unique platform for cultural exchange, the programme empowers artists to transform their experiences into meaningful art pieces. This initiative underscores the profound power of art to bridge cultures, record history, and share narratives, fostering unity and a deeper appreciation of the region’s rich heritage.
The programme hosts selected artists at the ASEAN Secretariat Head Office in Jakarta, where they create new works inspired by the spirit, environment, and history of the ASEAN region. These artworks reflect the cultural dialogue and unity among ASEAN nations and are carefully preserved and displayed at the ASEAN Arts Gallery.
By supporting the ASEAN Artists Residency Programme, C asean reaffirms its commitment to promoting cultural exchange and creative expression across the ASEAN region. The initiative not only provides a platform for emerging artists to develop and share their work but also strengthens regional ties and preserves cultural heritage. The resulting artworks stand as enduring symbols of unity, showcasing the collective spirit of ASEAN and inspiring future generations.
Objectives
